Dr.
Santrupt B. Misra has been inducted
in the seventeenth class of Fellows of the
National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR),
an honor considered the most prestigious
in the field of human resources.

"By
election to the Academy, the members of
the 2008 Class of Fellows have been acknowledged
by their peers as reaching the very highest
level of achievement in the human resources
profession," said Mirian Graddick-Weir,
chair of the NAHR and senior vice president,
human resources, Merck & Co., Inc. "Each
of these human resources professionals has
made sustained and exemplary contributions
to the broad field of human resources. These
new Academy Fellows have played a substantial
role in shaping
human resource management thinking and policy.

Dr. Misra, a maestro of people craft, is
at the helm of the Human Resource function
at the Aditya Birla Group.
Conferring
the accolade on Dr. Misra, Mirian Graddick-Weir,
Chair, Micheal A Peel, Treasurer, Dr. Charles
G. Tharp, President eulogised him on his
admirable support to the Chairman in the
Groups multi-fold transformation from
a traditional organisation to a vibrant
MNC.

"He has been instrumental in changing
mindsets and in transforming the Group into

engaged in a round of restructuring businesses
