Eternal Gandhi multimedia exposition, the
first of its kind digital exhibition on
the Mahatma is the brainchild of Mr. Kumar
Mangalam Birla. The project, spearheaded
by Mrs. Rajashree Birla, was conceived to
pay homage to the Mahatma and give the youngsters
of today a feel of history in a contemporary
setting.
The
Eternal Gandhi Multimedia exhibition seeks
to revive greater interest in the Mahatma
through digital interfaces. This unique interactive
exhibition was inaugurated at the Science
City, Ahmedabad in early January this year
by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat
Mr. Narendra Modi.
The
function was held under the auspices of
Vibrant Gujarat 2007, the global investors’
summit and was presided by H.E. the Governer
of Gujarat Mr.Nawal Kishore Sharma. Mr.
Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman Aditya Birla
Group and Smt. Rajashree Birla also graced
the occasion. The highpoint of the event
was a rendition of Gandhiji’s favorite
bhajan by Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, the renowned
santoor exponent.
While
encouraging people to adhere to values and
principles of Gandhiji, both the Chief Minister
and the Governor lauded the efforts the
made by the Aditya Birla Group and the Birla
family for the exhibition. On this occasion
the Aditya Birla Group launched a range
of souvenirs, which were exclusively designed
and custom-made for promoting Gandhiji’s
life and values. The exhibition is scheduled
to remain at the venue for at least two
months and plans are on the anvil to take
this exhibition to other cites in India
and abroad.
