The plant operates with state-of-the-art technology by adopting the oil furnace wet pelletised technological process along with re-use of waste water through recycling and ensuring zero discharge. The LBCC plant is equipped with the distributed control system (DCS) in its manufacturing operations ensuring consistency of the product quality. The innovative total energy utilisation concept has made way for effective use of tail gases.

LBCC also has a captive power plant of 8MW capacity, which like all the other units, utilises the excess steam generated during the carbon black production process. This electricity generation leads to better energy utilisation and lowering of the production cost. Another capacity expansion project at LBCC has seen a four-fold increase in the availability of product volumes.
